The 35th European Athletics Championships in Glasgow was a great event for the Greek national team.
Greece was 5th at the medal table (Poland and Great Britain were at the top) earning 1 gold medal, 2 silvers and 1 bronze, and had 10 athletes in finals!

Miltos Tentoglou won the mens LJ with 8,38m. achieving NR by 15cm and becoming the 6th all-time athlete in Europe!
Voula Papachristou made her first appearance for this season, since an injury kept her out of the competitions. She jumped 14,50m. and got the silver medal in the WTJ.
Kostas Baniotis was 2nd in HJ with 2.26m the first medal of his career, after many years of finishing 4th and 5th.
Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou was 3rd in womens PV with 4.65m. while -previous winner- Katerina Stephanidis was 4th with same performance (Eleni Polak equaled her PB with 4.50m in the qualis but didn’t made it to the finals).
Emmanuel Karalis was 4th in the men event, the 19 year old got really close to a medal – while Kostas Filippidis NM.
Kostas Zikos took the 5th place in mens 60m, there has been a while sense we had a men sprinter in the finals.Kostas Douvalidis in the mens 60m. hurdles was 5th. The winner was Milan Trajkovic winning the first gold in European Championships for Cyprus- and the Greek national anthem was played for second time at the Emirates Arena.
Nicolas Skarvelis was 2cm far from the National Record and his PR in the mens SP qualis and 8th in the final.
The Norwegian Karsten Warholm did the best performance of the games running the 400m. in 45.05 =ER after 31 years. Jakob Ingebrigtsen did a U20 ER at mens 3000m prem.round with 3.36.02 and won the final and was 2nd at 1500m.
A …double-double succeed Laura Muir winning womens 3000m. & 1500m in …home races (as a Scottish). Serbian Ivana Spanovic jumped 6.99m. ad won for third consecutive time the womens LJ. Brittish Katarina Johnson-Thompson had a great score with 4983points in Pentathlon.
Russia didnt take part once more due to disquafication, but 2 Russians won their event as Authorised Neutral Athletes, Lasitskene the HJ and Sidorova the PV.
